The technique for the wind instrument players
Stephen Maxym thinks that breathing is much more important what some teacher’s said about tone and phrasing. According to his writing he trusts every detail in music made by wind players based on breathing. He addresses to string instrument players. Breathing is like a bow. If bow technique is not enough, the quality gets down. But when both right hand and left hand is good technically, the work that comes out is higher degree.
He says if a player’s breathing is well than he has fine sound, variety tone colors, a better intonation etc. The professionalism of players comes out. Also less stress and pressure more relaxing and fine tone comes out.
He advices players that they should breath diaphragm, chest and above the chest. The sense should be from tip of your foot finger below the neck you should feel every molecule in your organs. And while exhaling it should not be stress and forced. It should be fluent and leggier.
